Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is disappointed Andrea Ranocchia is not at the World Cup.
Moratti talked up Ranocchia yesterday after Italy's win over England.
"I want to defend Ranocchia," Moratti told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-1 win over England.
"I think he's more experienced than Gabriel Paletta, who I'm sure will put in a much better performance going forward than he did last night.
"There isn't a lot of Inter in the Italy squad, but we've got quite a few lads at the World Cup playing for other nations.
"Italy-England was a game full of sentiment for me, as there was the pride of our Nazionale, but also a great deal of affection for Hodgson."
