Ronnie Moran was back at Liverpool this week ahead of today's derby.
Moran, ignoring the discomfort of a knee replacement operation, was eager to offer his support to manager Kenny Dalglish.
"For me, seeing Ronnie walking around the place this week has been brilliant," said Dalglish.
"I know football has changed since I was last here - and no-one could have predicted that Manchester United would win 11 Premier League titles - but I have always thought that Boot Room mentality should be part of every club I've been at.
"It wasn't just a place to go for a drink. The contribution people like Ronnie, Roy Evans, old Tom Saunders made when I was last here was unbelievable. Then there was always Bob Paisley, the most successful English manager ever, to call on. It was like a happy birthday every day for me.
"They were as sharp as tacks, men who had been educated in football. That's why I have brought in Steve Clark as coach. He's in the same mould and his cv isn't bad, is it?
"I will include all the staff in conversations that are pertinent to Liverpool Football Club because that's what I've always done.
"There won't be any divisions at this club while I'm the manager."
