Darren Moore says Derby County have chosen well in new gaffer Paul Jewell.

Moore played for Jewell at Bradford City and the Rams defender said: "Paul is very good, his track record speaks for itself.

"He has got a great inner belief. He can compete in managerial terms with everyone else in the Premier League. And he transfers that to the team.

"He will give us that inner belief. That's what we had at Bradford. That's why eyebrows were raised when we were promoted. That's why eyebrows were raised when we stayed up. That's why Wigan survived for two seasons.

"The chairman and directors of this club have chosen the right man to take this club forward.

"The first impression in training was really, really good. He's honest. Straight talking. It has given the players and the staff a lift."
