Montreal Impact watching South American players closely says Marsch

Montreal Impact head coach Jesse Marsch has recently returned from a second trip to South America in a matter of months as he goes about preparing his MLS roster for the 2012 season.

Marsch and his assistant Mike Sorber headed back to South America after initially travelling there in October and the Impact coach admits there are a few players in the region he has his eye on.

"We watched them a bit more closely this time," Marsch told MLSsoccer.com "We evaluated different scenarios to see how they could fit into the team's strategy.

"We also analyzed the financial aspect of bringing one or many players from South America."

Apart from an overseas taste, Marsch admits he will be bringing in a number of players to the Impact squad who have already have a vast experience of MLS.

"We need players with a strong MLS background and experience," Marsch added. "There are a lot of players on our radar.

"Although we have a good sense of what to expect next week, we want to have as many options as possible. It's important to keep an open mind."
