Montreal Impact targeting another DP following arrival of Di Vaio

Montreal Impact sporting director Nick De Santis has revealed the club is still in pursuit of another Designated Player despite the arrival of Marco Di Vaio.

The MLS expansion franchise last week completed the signing of the Italian striker from Bologna with De Santis wasting no time in suggesting the Impact were still hunting for another top quality player to help improve things both on and off the pitch which was the motivation for signing Di Vaio.

"With the window opening in Europe, we're getting a lot of resumes from players who are out of contract, so we have to consider every option to improve this team," De Santis told the press.

"This being said, we're happy with the team we have right now, and while we might have lost a number of points, we've built something important here.

"We wanted a DP not just for his on-field qualities but for his personality, his motivation, his responsibilities towards what we're building here and towards his teammates, the club and the young players."
