Montreal Impact defender Zarek Valentin has been loaned to Norwegian club FK Bodo/Glimt.
The 21-year old USA U23 international will spend the rest of 2013 with the Adeccoligaen (First Division) outfit before returning to Montreal in early 2014.
"He'll get familiar with another environment, another mentality and another culture of soccer," Impact sporting director Nick De Santis told reporters.
"It'll also help his development on the tactical and technical sides. I think he's open to that idea, as he saw how other players went through similar experiences to great effect."
