Montreal Impact are not trying to sign Pablo Piatti from Valencia.

Reports have suggested that the 24-year old Argentine winger had emerged as a target for the Impact but a club spokesman denied the claims.

"This is not true," the Impact spokesperson told MLSsoccer.com.

Piatti kicked off his career with homeland club Estudiantes la Plata in 2006 before moving to Spain with Almeria in 2008 prior to his 2011 shift to the Mestalla.
