The Montreal Impact can focus on the CONCACAF Champions League. That is because the Canadian side, atop their Champions League group, have been eliminated from the USL-1 playoffs by rival Vancouver Whitecaps.
The Whitecaps will host the #1 seeded Puerto Rico Islanders on Sunday. The Islanders also playing well in the CONCACAF Champions League and came from two goals down to defeat Rochester, which features former Celtic and England winger Steve Guppy, 3-2.
The Islanders must make a midweek trip to Mexico to play Santos Laguna in the Champions League then fly up north to Vancouver. Here's hoping the Islanders have a good frequent flyer bonus membership plan!
