Montreal Impact favoured to be 19th MLS franchise
Montreal Impact remain favourites to be granted the 19th MLS licence.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber has reiterated that the Impact have the best chance of entering the competition in 2012 after Philadelphia Union join next season to be followed by Vancouver and Portland.
Although some things need to be sorted, including a stadium, Montreal remain as the frontrunner to become team 19 in MLS.
"The ownership group is here [in Seattle for talks]. We are making progress,” said Garber.
“We hope to have a 19th team in the league by 2012 and Montreal is still the leading candidate. But we have got some work to do, most importantly, that stadium needs to be renovated and expanded. It's probably not suitable for an MLS team today.
“We are going to work with the Saputo family and the provincial government and try to make some progress in funding a renovation."

Cheap Labour! You American Jack Ass. It actually costs more to make a product in Canada - the diffrence between us and you ignorant shits is that we do it right the first time. Buy American = Buy crap! Get our own league? It took David B and the success of TFC for you to keep MLS going The toughest question to ask an american... you need to choose between health care insurance and a piece of shit american built Cadi. I'll take the tent and the Cadi please or better yet can I finance my mortgage over 75 years so me and Ma can go to disney world!
Go ***** yourself they played in the same arena as the Saint Louis Blues. You are a pure douche bag. You ***** Canadians are only go for cheap labor nothing else a step above Mexico. You guys should get your own league
"we had an average 30,000 a game for indoor soocer" I doubt the rink sat more than 18,000. And it SOCCER.
You sir are the soccer version of Sarah Pallin. Everything you say is bullshit. Why don't you try that again? How about 3 million a game for indoor soccer. Women's soccer? You must be joking! JOKING. Lets see how this NASL expansion team does in terms of attendance over a few years. FILL THE SEATS.
The only way St Louis may get a team is if KC moves.
