Montreal Impact delighted with form of Martins

Montreal Impact head coach Jesse Marsch has been extremely impressed with the start Felipe Martins has made with the expansion franchise.

The 21-year old Brazilian midfielder has started all 10 MLS matches so far this season, since crossing from Swiss club FC Lugano, and his performances in midfielder have not been lost on Marsch who commented on the players maturity.

"Felipe is a 21-year-old who plays more like a 30-year-old," Marsch told the Montreal Gazette.

"His sense tactically how to play, his ability on the ball, the sizing up of things … for a guy that's played in different leagues he's actually adapted to MLS really well.

"He's adapted especially well to the physical style of play in this league. Sometimes he actually dictates the physical style, and I think that's good. We continue to try and help him understand how to get better, but he's been a guy who's been very important for us, that's for sure."
