MLS club Montreal Impact are closer to signing Ignacio Piatti from San Lorenzo according to reports.
La Presse suggests that the Impact are on the verge of bringing the 29-year old Argentine midfielder to the Saputo Stadium 'except for a last-minute turnaround'.
It is believed that Piatti is the target for clubs in Spain, Italy, Brazil and Mexico but Montreal could win the race for his services.
Piatti has previously played in France with Saint-Etienne and in Italy with Lecce as well as with Argentine clubs Chacarita Juniors, Gimnasia La Plata and Independiente.
