Montreal Impact appoints ex-Chicago Fire coach Hamlett as assistant

Part of an official release from Montreal Impact

The Montreal Impact have announced that Denis Hamlett has been named an assistant coach with the club's first team.

Hamlett, 42, from Costa Rica, most recently served as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in 2011, helping the club in its inaugural season in MLS, but spent most of his coaching career with the Chicago Fire.

"We are extremely excited to add a coach like Denis Hamlett to our coaching staff," said Impact head coach Jesse Marsch. "We know the experience and knowledge that he brings will be a great addition to the team. Many of us have worked with Denis before, making him a very good fit for our group."
