Montreal Impact announce 5,000 MLS tickets already sold

The Montreal Impact announced Friday that more than 5,000 season tickets have been sold for its inaugural season in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2012.

With still five months remaining until the first home game, this is the largest number of season tickets sold by the club, since playing its inaugural season at Saputo Stadium in 2008.

Certain categories are already almost sold out, including Category 1 tickets, located in the North grandstand (1,250$), while more than half of our corporate suites have already been sold for next season.

The renewal rate of season tickets is also the highest seen in club history, and the numbers in the Supporters category have never been higher.

"We are extremely happy to have reached this milestone, and this even before announcing our first player signing for MLSNelson Rivas," said Montreal Impact Executive Vice President Richard Legendre. "We are delighted by the interest generated by the new league. We are confident that Montreal can become of one the biggest soccer markets in North America."
