Rene Girard says that Arsene Wenger is well aware his Arsenal team will come up against a very good Montpellier side on Tuesday night.
The reigning French champions host the Gunners in their opening Champions League match at the Stade de la Mosson and La Paillade boss Girard has warned his old friend to expect a difficult contest.
"It was good to see him; we've known each other for a long time," said Girard in reference to a recent Champions League managers meeting.
"He was in fine form, so I hope his team isn't doing as well as he is!
"There's a lot of respect there. We spoke a lot about the upcoming match. He knows that we're a good side and that his lads will have to be on the money to come out of it with the three points."
