AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has welcomed the appointment of Clarence Seedorf as new coach.

Seedorf stepped in after the sacking of Massimiliano Allegri last week.

"He brought enthusiasm and his football ideas. Now aside from the Coach, the players must give a response on the field.

"We hope this is the beginning of another season for us, as we have 19 games to prove we are not the team seen in the last 19 matches."
