Riccardo Montolivo wants Fiorentina to match his ambitions if he is to sign a new contract.
The Italy international has stalled on putting pen to paper on a new deal with just 18 months remaining on his existing contract.
"I would like a stronger and more competitive Fiorentina, and I hope, in fact, I am certain that the Della Valle family want one too," Montolivo said.
"It's not a financial problem. I am 26 and I have the desire to make a jump in quality. Fiorentina are my priority.
"I believe that by June or sooner we will meet with the club to decide everything. I would like to clarify that I haven't had any contact with other clubs.
"I can't bear certain stories and certain falsehoods."
