Monterrey midfielder Ayovi keen on MLS move

Monterrey midfielder Walter Ayovi suggests he could be keen on a move to MLS when his current contract expires.

The 33-year old Ecuador national team captain is likely to attract interest in the next little while with his deal expiring next month and he has indicated that moving north from Mexico to America or Canada could be an option.

"In May, my contract with [Monterrey] expires and I still don't know what my future holds," Ayovi told FutbolMLS.com's Tiro Libre.

"I know something good will come of it, and we'll have to wait and see, and I have to keep working in the same way and hope that a good possibility presents itself."

He added: "Well, yes, the truth is I would love [to play in MLS]. We'll see. It's a possibility that I've always had there, and hopefully that can happen."
