Monterrey coach Victor Manuel Vucetich was surprised by Chelsea's dismissal of Roberto di Matteo.

Monterrey hope to prevent the Londoners from reaching the Fifa Club World Cup final in Yokohama.

"I was very much surprised that the coach was suddenly changed,'' said Vucetich. "They'd played under one coach to win the Champions League, but he's not here. That happens in football. But (Rafa) Benitez is very well known and has much experience in international matches. We are aware of what kind of strategies he takes into games, and we're always keeping our eyes on the international terrain of football and are pretty confident how to deal with them.

"We have to be well prepared. Chelsea are the No1 club team in the world. In the Premier League, they are a very good team. But regardless of that, we want to put in our best performance and play as we always do. This is going to be a new page in the history of our club team."
