Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was thrilled with their 5-3 win over Hellas Verona.
Alberto Aquilani struck twice in the eight goal stunner.
âIt was one of our best performances since I came to Fiorentina and I like it when the team plays with such quality,â Montella told Sky Sport Italia.
âWe showed tactical acumen, timed our runs well and created so many chances. I was very happy to see my team play such attacking and attractive football.â
Alessandro Matri was benched, but scored a penalty when he had not been designated.
âGonzalo Rodriguez was the penalty taker, but he decided to leave it to Matri and thatâs fair enough. It was an important goal in a decisive moment of the match.
âAlberto Aquilani had an almost perfect performance, as he defended, he tied the play together and scored goals too.
âI was a little upset at conceding the late goal, but once I got into the tunnel I realised it was a good performance overall.â
