Monk tribute to departing Swansea striker Bony

Swansea City boss Garry Monk has paid tribute to striker Wilfried Bony.

Bony may've played his last game for the club with a move to Manchester City now close.

He has just flown out to begin preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations and Monk says it is no surprise that the player is in demand.

"He's been top quality," said the manager. "You have seen for yourselves what he contributes to the games.

"It was a risk on behalf of the club as he was untried at this level and he had a tough start to his time here, not playing many games.

"But, since he has had that run of games, and felt he was a big part of the squad, we have seen what he can do.

"He has done tremendously well for us. He's a great person and he is one of our best trainers, and best players."
