Garry Monk resigned as manager of Leeds because he wanted a longer commitment from new owner Andrea Radrizzani, according to Sky Sports.
The report suggests Radrizzani had planned to exercise a 12-month extension of the former Swansea manager's deal, but discussions between the parties are believed to have not reached that far.
Instead, Monk has reportedly seen the club's reluctance to trigger the deal as a sign that they weren't committed to him for the future.
It is also reported that Monk had been left out of discussions surrounding future transfer plans.
