Monk hails Swansea win over QPR as best of season

Swansea City boss Garry Monk was delighted with victory over QPR.

Monk felt it was their best performance of the season.

Monk hailed the victory secured by late goals from Ki Sung-Yueng and Wayne Routledge as vital.

He said: "People talk about the Man United and Arsenal big wins but I look at the details and I felt that was one of our most complete performances of the season.

"For 90 minutes we controlled the whole game, our tempo and passing, attacking play and defending. It was the most complete I've seen it this season and it's very pleasing - and two goals, a clean sheet and three points all very much warranted against QPR side in good form.

"We set our stall out from the outset but we came up against a keeper in great form - some of the saves Rob Green made were fantastic and he didn't deserve to be on the losing side the way he played.

"The message was to keep on moving the ball quickly and keep our attacking play as sharp as possible. We felt that if we created chances the way we did in the first half then hopefully we would take one or two and secure the game. We were able to do that and deserved at least the two goals and the clean sheet.

"And I'm very proud of the way we're working and what we're trying to achieve. We've put in hours of hard work - tactically, mentally, physically - on what we're trying to do and we feel we're in a good moment. We thrive on it and we're on our biggest points tally we've had since we've been in Premier League and we'll try to push on for the rest of the season."
