Monk expecting Swansea to bounce back from Leicester loss

Swansea City manager Garry Monk is backing his side to bounce back from their disappointing home defeat to relegation candidate Leicester City last weekend.

The Swans travel to Newcastle United on Saturday and Monk believes his players are desperate to atone for that disappointment.

"Of course we were disappointed last week with our performance," Monk said.

"We didn't reach the standard that we've set for the majority of the season so we were disappointed, but from the experience I have had at this club, every time we've had a setback we've come back strong.

"That's what we've talked about this week. That's how training has been and the focus has been and hopefully this weekend you will see a good reaction and that hunger.

"But I think we were asked that question three or four weeks ago and I think we answered that very strongly with the performances and the results that we got. The setback we had last week is another chance for us to answer that question. Hopefully we will show that in the game."
