Swansea City manager Garry Monk has been linked with West Ham United but the 36-year old is more concerned about keeping his current job than listening to rumours.
Monk has impressed in his first full season as a manager in south Wales which has alerted the Hammers but the former defender is only focusing on the next task rather than looking too far ahead.
"I am ambitious but in this business you are either successful or you get sacked," he said.
"You only have seven or eight game periods to work to because if you lose those eight games, then it is a totally different conversation. That is the nature of the beast.
"Of course you have a longer-term plan but it's also about fighting for today."
Eighth-placed Swansea will travel to bottom-of-the-table Leicester City on Saturday.
