Monk admits this week could decide Swansea job

Swansea City interim boss Garry Monk admits he'll know more about his chances of a fulltime gig this time next week.

First up today in the FA Cup, Monk's men face ex-Swansea boss Roberto Martinez and an Everton outfit sitting sixth in the top flight.

Then this Thursday, they host Rafa Benitez's Serie A giants Napoli in the Europa League before a daunting league trip to Brendan Rodgers' red-hot Liverpool next Sunday.

Monk said: "If I get a triple A rating from that lot I might even call the chairman myself.

"Since getting the job against Cardiff last Saturday, I've heard nothing about my future.

"There has been no chat with the chairman. But to be fair, we have been so busy there has not been any time to sit down and talk and plan any of the other stuff.

"The games are coming too thick and fast.

"I am just getting on with it until I am told not to.

"In that respect, no news is definitely good news for now.

"At least I haven't been given the hook driving into work!"
