Newcastle reserves coach Richard Money says his players need to show they're worthy of going out on-loan.
With Cardiff City tracking Andy Carroll, and players such as David Edgar and Ben Tozer in need of first-team action, Money told the Evening Chronicle: "You can only loan players if football clubs call and ask you.
"Maybe there is a bit of a misunderstanding. We can't phone people and let them know they are available.
"That's not how it works.
"When I was manager of Walsall I would come and watch a reserve team and then if I liked somebody I would say can I have so and so on loan. That's how it works."
