Monchengladbach star Xhaka would certainly choose Man City over China money

Borussia Monchengladbach star Granit Xhaka has revealed that he would prefer to join Manchester City rather move to China on a big money deal.

There have been a slew of players from Europe making a move to the money-rich Chinese Super League in recent times and many more are still expected to head to the Asian nation in the foreseeable future.

However, Monchengladbach midfielder Xhaka is not tempted by the money that is on offer in China and is instead hopeful for a move to a big Premier League club such as City.

"I can only speak for myself, but at my age I would never go to China, for no money in the world," the 23-year-old Swiss international told Sport Bild.

"The sporting perspective and everything else would need to be right. Honestly, you want experience such a positive vibe, such a togetherness in football often. That counts too.

"And should I one day want to make the next step, it also has to be an improvement. But true, it's difficult to say no when Manchester City want you and you could play there. That much I have to admit. But I certainly not the only one."
