AS Monaco have brought Jerko Leko back into the first team squad after a move to the UK fell through.

The Croatia international was strongly linked with Wolves - as well as Scottish Premier League side Celtic - in the summer.

A move was very close, but Monaco coach Guy Lacombe explains that the 29-year-old failed to land a work permit to cross the Channel.

"He was about to be transferred to England," confirmed Lacombe.

"But things could not been sorted out due to work permit trouble. So logically, he is back with us."
