Manchester United face competition from AS Monaco for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
Le Sport 10 says reports over the weekend suggested the Premier League champions had agreed a £37million fee for the Portuguese international - with the move set to go through after the World Cup.
However, Monaco are said to have joined the race and reportedly have close connections with Carvalho's agent Jorge Mendes.<> The French moneybags would also be able to offer the 21-year-old Champions League football - something United look unable to match.
