AS Monaco have jumped into the race for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
The France international is expected to sign for Chelsea today with negotiations between the two clubs at an advanced stage.
However, L'Equipe says Monaco are making a rival bid for Giroud after selling Guido Carrillo to Southampton last week.
ASM are willing to outbid Chelsea with an £18m proposal for the centre-forward. Chelsea are offering £15m.
Either way, Giroud has made up his mind to leave Arsenal today after saying goodbye to away fans following defeat at Swansea City last night.
