Departing Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho is proud of his time at the Bernabeu.

Carvalho has signed for AS Monaco in recent days.

"Since I signed for Real Madrid, whenever I had the chance, I played. The first year was very good, I played almost every match. But then I had problems, injuries, and I've never been at the level that I was at in that first year. This third year has been very difficult, because at centre-back there were Sergio Ramos, Varane and Pepe ... But I'm happy because when I was at a good level physically I helped the team a lot."
