Monaco reject China bid for ex-Chelsea, Man Utd loanee Falcao

French club AS Monaco have turned down an offer from a Chinese club for Radamel Falcao.

It is understood that Monaco rejected €50million proposal from Tianjin Quanjian - the same club that has recently bid big for Chelsea's Diego Costa.

The two players share the same agent, Jorge Mendes.

However, there is no certainty that Colombian striker Falcao, who spent two seasons in England with Manchester United and Chelsea, will be staying at the Stade Louis II this winter.

Monaco president vice-president Vadim Vasilyev indicated to Canal Football Club that some more suitable bids will be considered for any of their players.

"China has become a significant actor with the amount they can offer for players," he said.

"At one moment or another, we resist, but after a certain point, I have to think like a club representative.

"Obviously I want to win titles and trophies, but there are unique situations. There are very few clubs in the world that can reject all offers."

It is believed that Monaco sporting director Antonio Cordon is continuing to search for an available world-class striker just in case they accept an improved bid from Tianjin, or any other Chinese Super League outfit.
