Monaco prepare new approach for Man City boss Mancini

AS Monaco refuse to give up on prising Roberto Mancini away from Manchester City.

The Sunday Mirror says Mancini's City future beyond the end of this season is uncertain and Monaco are preparing another move for the Italian, whether or not he is sacked.

Monaco failed in a bid to tempt Mancini away from the Blues 12 months ago, but have retained their interest in the 48-year-old.

Despite appointing Claudio Ranieri, who has guided the club to top spot in French Ligue Two, Monaco still see Mancini as their best long-term option.

He would also be allowed to take David Platt, Attilio Lombardo, Fausto Salsano, fitness coach Ivan Carminati and goalkeeping coach Massimo Battara with him to the principality.

That would offer City the chance of a clean break to replace Mancini with a new manager and fresh coaching staff. Director of football Txiki Begiristain and chief executive Ferran Soriano will be responsible for deciding whether Mancini is given another chance past this season.
