Monaco chief Vasilyev: Why we were FORCED to send Falcao to Man Utd

AS Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev admits UEFA's Financial Fair Play laws forced them to offload Radamel Falcao on-loan to Manchester United.

Monaco already let James Rodriguez depart for Real Madrid earlier in the window but the Principality club made the call to let Falcao depart as well to avoid sanctions from UEFA.

Vasilyev told Canal Plus: "We could have never had the same project as PSG.

"Here it is nice, but too small.

"It was out of the question for [Monaco owner] Dimitry Rybolovlev to pay a single euro in fines concerning Financial Fair Play."
