AS Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev isn't surprised by the big interest for their whizkid Kylian Mbappe.

Manchester City failed with a deadline day bid for the teen.

"He's a fantastic talent," said Vasilyev to the Daily Mail. "When we were drawing up his contract he could have joined any big club. He had many approaches and I am very happy he stayed with us and chose the project of Monaco.

"Players here know we are good at launching the new stars of tomorrow. Whether it's Martial or Carrasco we are good at that. Monaco is the right step for many young talents."
