Monaco chief Vasilyev: I wanted to sell Mbappe to Real Madrid

AS Monaco chief Vadim Vasilyev admits he wanted to sell Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid last summer.

Mbappe was in advanced talks with Real before he ultimately chose to join PSG in August. The teen has signed with the Parisians on-loan with a permanent option set this summer for €180m.

"If I would have preferred to sell Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid than to PSG? Yes," declared Vasilyev.

Mbappe has scored 13 goals and produced eight assists this season.

In England over the weekend, it's been suggested PSG may be forced to pass on signing Mbappe outright due to Financial Fair Play concerns. Manchester City are watching developments closely - and Real are sure to be doing the same.
