Monaco chief Guy Lacombe has confirmed a deal for Stoke City midfielder Seyi Olofinjana has fallen through.
The Potters accepted an offer of £2.5million last week and gave the Nigerian midfielder permission to speak with Monaco.
Monaco boss Lacombe has now revealed that the transfer was on the verge of being finalised before Olofinjana had a late change of heart.
The 29-year-old's future now seems uncertain as Lacombe understands another club have entered the chase for his signature.
"We have agreed everything with the club and the player but in the last minute he does not want to come," Lacombe told Nice Matin.
"I think they have received a better offer and we don't want to agree to their desire."
