Liverpool legend Jan Molby believes that his former side should go all out to sign the new 'N'Golo Kante' from RB Leipzig.

Following a bright start to the season, Liverpool have fallen off of the pace in the race for the Premier League title in dramatic fashion and it is clear that the Reds need to further strengthen their squad next summer in order to mount a more genuine bid for the title.

Bringing in a defensive midfielder will be of paramount importance for Liverpool and Molby has advised Jurgen Klopp to sign Leipzig star Naby Keita, whom he has likened to Chelsea superstar Kante.

Molby wrote in his column for the Liverpool Echo: "Nevertheless, we need more options in midfield and I'm encouraged to see us linked with Naby Keita of RB Leipzig.

"He's a player. Having seen him in action, he reminds me of N'Golo Kante.

"He has that same level of potential and looks as though he'd make the step up in his stride.

"Of course, a lot of other clubs are also looking at him. And this is where finishing in the top four makes such a difference.

"Yes, he'd have a chance to play in the Premier League at a great football club. But being in the Champions League is where the best players want to be."
