Molby: Liverpool now more attractive for players than Man Utd

Liverpool hero Jan Molby feels his former club will now become a more attractive proposition for players than Manchester United.

With Liverpool sitting in second place, United are unlikely to qualify for next season's Champions League unless they win the tournament - but holders Bayern Munich stand in their way.

Molby told the Daily Star Sunday: "The longer United's slump continues the more attractive their rivals' offers become.

"The more that continues, the harder it will be for Moyes to bring top names to Old Trafford.

"For me, I think United will be looking at the players just below the world-class level this summer as that will be realistic given their struggles.

"The other factor to consider is who would you prefer to play for out of Moyes or Rodgers?

"Rodgers has a record of improving certain players and making the whole team function effectively.

"In stark contrast, it's very hard to get a hold on what is going on at Old Trafford."
