Mohamed Elyounoussi admits he feared he'd missed out on a move to Southampton over the summer.
An injury with FC Basel had the Norway attacker fearing the worst.
He recalled to VG: "It had been a bit tricky. I got hurt. It was annoying.
"I have been fortunate and lucky over the years and been only a little injured, so it was a bit uncool to get that injury at the worst possible time. I had to drop the national team in the summer and it could've ruined the transfer.
"I was nervous about it, I was. I did not quite know how to solve the situation with the damage. Another club might have said no.
"But after the medical I spoke to my agent and he said the club was aware of the injury and that it wouldn't affect the transfer."
