Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric was delighted to wear the captain's armband in their victory over West Ham in China.
"It's always a big honour for a player to be chosen as captain and it was an honour for me to be captain of Tottenham," Modric told the Spurs website.
"I was delighted to have been given the opportunity and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd like to thank Harry for choosing me."
So what was the captain's assessment of our performance?
"I thought we played well, it was our best performance so far in pre-season," he added. "We have to be happy with how we played, especially in that heat.
"We need to keep going, to keep improving and be ready for the first day of the season. Liverpool is a very tough game on the opening weekend and the start of the season is very important."
