Luka Modric says he'll always be grateful to Tottenham's much-maligned former manager Juande Ramos.
Despite flopping in the White Hart Lane hot-seat, Modric insists Ramos will always hold a special place in his heart.
"I never once felt like I've made a mistake by coming to Spurs," Modric told the Daily Star. "We didn't start the way we would have liked last season but it was a difficult time because everyone thought we would be great because we brought in some new players.
"We struggled and it was a tough time for me and the club but I'm happy now and don't look back at that time. What's happened has happened.
"I'll always be grateful to Juande because he wanted me and brought me here."
