LA Galaxy star David Beckham feels MLS officials will be extremely happy with the Western Conference semi-final fixtures between his side and New York Red Bulls.

The two glamour clubs of the competition faced off in the first leg on the weekend, with the Galaxy saluting 1-0, making for a potential ratings bonanza for the second leg in Carson, California on Thursday night.

Beckham understands it is a match-up that many involved with MLS wanted to see and is confident that it will prove a winner from an off-field viewpoint.

"They're two big games. They're a top team with some really good players. It's going to be a tough game. I'm happy to be in the playoffs, and happy to be playing New York,'' said Beckham. "You want to put yourself up against some of the best players, and the better teams, and I think we are against that.

"I think a lot of people probably wanted this game, and they'll be happy. The league will be happy, and TV will be happy. They've got some good players."
