Encouraged to find a new club by United manager Jose Mourinho, Schweinsteiger faces a season in the stands after refusing to leave during the summer.

Fussball Transfers report three MLS clubs are keen to take the German to the US for the 2017 MLS season, which kicks off in March.

Atlanta, Minnesota United and Chicago Fire are all in talks with Schweinsteiger.

The midfielder, 32, has a deal with United to 2018, but will be granted a free transfer if he can fix himself up a new club.
