MLS to stick with English teams for All-Star games for now - Garber

MLS Commissioner Don Garber suggests that the competition's All-Star matches will continue to involve English Premier League teams for the time being.

Since 2005, the MLS select have taken on the likes of Fulham, Chelsea, West Ham United, Everton and Manchester United (last two years) and Garber said that although there are plans to break away from clubs in the UK, for now it is working well.

"I would think over time, we're going to change, reach further out from where we've been in the past. But it's hard to argue with the popularity that some of these English clubs have in America," he said at the All-Star press conference.

"As long as those clubs continue to look to the United States, and have strong fan bases, we'll probably continue to look to England.

"I will say, though, that our view is to South America and Mexico sometime in the future."
