MLS have signed Valerenga goalkeeper Troy Perkins.

The US international has agreed personal terms with MLS officials for the coming season. A return to DC United is expected.

Valerenga boss Martin Andreasen told the club website that Perkins was heading back to America for family reasons as he bid a fond farewell to the keeper.

"Troy was a very good keeper for us and a good person in the group," he said.
