MLS sell international TV rights

Sports Business Journal is reporting that Soccer United Marketing (SUM - Owners of MLS) and ESPN have sold international broadcast rights for all Major League Soccer games to MP & Silva in an eight-figure agreement that extends through 2013. "The economic benefits are substantial, but strategically they're really going to expand our distribution," said SUM President Doug Quinn. "This is something they can work on 24-7. The international broadcast landscape is a small group of people, and I think [MP & Silva] is going to go after it very aggressively."
