SI.com is suggesting that Minneapolis is being considered for a potential MLS expansion.
It is believed that MLS officials have recently been spending time with North American Soccer League side Minneapolis United FC regarding a future possibility of moving from the second division to the top flight.
United officials were present at the MLS Cup final in Kansas City earlier this month, reportedly to take a closer look at Sporting Park, as they look at preliminary plans to develop an urban soccer stadium.
However, there is competition from NFL franchise Minnesota Vikings who have also opened talks with MLS after their plans for a $1billion stadium, to be launched in 2016, became official.
