MLS MVP Wondolowski pens new San Jose Earthquakes deal

Chris Wondolowski has signed a new contract to become San Jose Earthquakes' Designated Player.

The 30-year old striker, who took out both the MLS Most Valuable Player and Golden Boot titles last season, has signed a four-year deal according to SI.com.

Wondolowski scored 27 league goals in 2012 and will now see his wages doubled to $600,000 a year after being the leading scorer in North America's top flight over the past three seasons.
