Major League Soccer and champions LA Galaxy do not desperately need big-name players following the loss of David Beckham.
They are the sentiments of Galaxy vice-president Chris Klein and MLS' executive vice-president of player relations Todd Durbin who believe a player like Real Madrid's Kaka, who has been heavily linked with a shift across the Atlantic, will not be the answer to Beckham's absence.
It is believed by many outsiders that MLS requires another European star to replace the former Manchester United man but Durbin does not agree.
"We're in a different place than where we were when (Beckham) came in six years ago," Durbin said.
"It will always be important to sign players with name recognition, but it's not an absolute must-have."
Whilst Klein says his club, who made it back-to-back MLS Cups this season, can continue achieving success with the likes of current Designated Players Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan.
AEG president Tim Leiweke recently stated that the Galaxy were considering the possibility of having Kaka at the Home Depot Center but Klein says there is no rush.
"Tim (Leiweke)'s comments (aboutshow that we're not shy in talking about bringing in a third designated player," Klein said.
"Going into next year we're confident we have the two best (designated players) in the league, so we can be patient."
